To the free spirits…

The sudden bursts of genius – real or perceived – are so exciting that they give me strength to deal with Saturn’s restrictions like a reed. And, oh do I have Saturn on my chart – he’s there for sure – 9 aspects to be exact!

Ironically, Saturn is the traditional ruler of Aquarius – Mr Eccentricity. Well, he carries his water (water bearer), instead of living in it – that’s odd. Uranus, the modern ruler of Aquarius, energises eccentricity, originality and individuality in us.

My Aquarius is on the cusp of the 9th. The 9th house is concerned with higher education, philosophy, religion, culture, long distance travel, law, writing, publishing. In my house of creativity (the 5th), Uranus sits conjunct the Moon – which explains why I relate to this quote. says:

Aquarius is the 3rd Air sign – 4th Fixed sign – Masculine. Is in analogy with Uranus – his ruler, Saturn, and the 11th House.

Aquarius governs the ankles and the legs.

His colour is navy blue or indigo.

His stone is the sapphire.

His day is Saturday.

His professions are astrologer, high technologies, scientist, astronaut, psychiatrist, actor, electrician…

Some countries traditionally associated with Aquarius: Russia, Sweden, Poland, Israel, Iran, Abyssinia.

Cities: Moscow, Salzburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Saint Petersburg.

Animals: long distance big birds such as the albatross.

Food: citrus fruits, apples, limes, dried fruits and easily preserved food.

Herbs and aromatics: peppers, hot red peppers, star-fruits, and generally herbs that are spicy or with an unusual flavour.

Flowers and plants: orchids, dancing ladies, polygonatum.

Trees: fruit trees.

Stones, Metals and Salts: aquamarines, aluminium, sodium chloride and magnesium phosphate.

Happy Sunday 🌸

Intuitive Flow

As I process and refine feelings, emotions (Moon) and thoughts (Mercury) I’m amazed at the way aspects work! We feel them. We can always tell when our planets form hard aspects, and when they form easy ones.

The basics of the horoscope – the skeleton – lie in understanding the functions of each planet (their energies) and the placement of these energies in the zodiac signs and houses.

It’s simple, really, once a deep understanding of each planet’s behaviour, the zodiac personalities and the house affairs is established. Aspects formed by transits become so intuitive that looking at a transit chart just becomes a practical, tangible way of confirming the same invisible energies we walk around with – even when we are away from technology.

Uranus still rules technology, originality and sudden changes – whether we are blanketed by electric wires in the city or sheltered by a weeping willow next to the river, with only natural electricity (lightning) as a possibility.

Below is an easy to remember list of the traits of each planet, sun sign and house.

With time (Saturn), I can guarantee that your intuitive flow will have words to describe it! So, here goes…

7th companionship, cooperation, relationships, partnerships, marriage partner, contracts, joint ventures.

Notice how I erred on the positive side of things?

Well, that’s because intuitive flow feels good! Negative qualities of any sign manifest when we aren’t living by our own flow – our life path – our North Node.

Peace and Harmony ✌♎

Number Sequences

As we ask and anticipate, the receiving bit can be quite personal. Personal in the sense of being specific to you, a unique individual; what you really meant when you asked; as well as the best suited answer. So, while we wait, for however long, we might receive signals that keep us holding on to the faith that we will always receive an answer that fits us best – maybe in an unexpected form – but we will know when it arrives that ‘this is it!’

Number sequences / Angel Numbers show up in many forms, but I think they are impossible to miss. ‘Numbers people’ might get stronger angelic communication in the form of number sequences…seeing the same number patterns often when you look at the clock…noticing the same licence plate numbers on the road…and so on…is one way of receiving guidance from the universe. ‘Animal people’ might get more of their messages through spirit animal guides. The list goes on – you can always tell how your messages are relayed – back and forth – I think!

Angel Numbers pop up when you need answers, and might disappear when the message has been received, and new ones start appearing. It’s a lifelong joyous dance that can only be appreciated with a smile.

Joanne does a lovely Venusian job of writing captivating meanings of number sequences. I do believe in Human Angels! She compiled this list of descriptions of Angel Numbers / Number Sequences* in a PDF, for us to have a quick pocket reference. How fabulous?

What always blows me away is how tied the number sequences are to planetary transits! That’s what I mean by numbers people and animal people. The form in which an individual’s communication occurs with the angelic realms (their planetary dance) is probably highly linked to their external environment. If it wasn’t for the existence of the Internet, I probably wouldn’t know about vibrations of numbers either! You may, one day, decide to check this horoscope story you hear about so often, to find that it just confirms what you’ve always known. The crux of it being that then you’ll know for sure, instead of just being informed.

That there, is the beauty of the simplicity of life!

The ‘I’ in Collective

I was woken up by the words, “The ‘I’ in Collective”, this morning – at my usual school clock time. The body does get used to routine, after all. This, of course got me digging for associations. So, I came across some fitting texts…

The intriguing bit is that the Moon is transiting my 12th house.

How does this all relate to the 12th house transit of the Moon?

The 12th is a house of dreams and integration

It’s under the ownership of Pisces who is imaginative, sensitive, compassionate and intuitive.

Pisces is charged with Neptune’s energies of dreaming and healing. They are both transpersonal in nature – a higher vibration of collective consciousness that spans hidden, subconscious realms.

Neptune is an outer planet, together with Uranus and Pluto. His effects are transcendent – connecting us with each other (the “collective”) and with spaces we can’t define in tangible form. Conversely, the Moon affects our moods and emotions on a personal level (the “I”).

Are you getting the link yet? If not, walk with me a little longer!

My transit Moon isn’t forming any aspects with other planets at this point – natal or transit. This gives me a temporary sigh of relief, especially after the emotionally taxing past 2 days I’ve had! Of course, when the Moon forms aspects with other planets, the energies of those planets and their placements on the horoscope will need to be viewed holistically. For now though, the focus is on mother Moon! I’ve talked about the Moon in more length somewhere on the blog, if you’d like to study it further.

To sum all these fragments up, and to revisit the motivation for this post:

  • The Moon’s transit is personal – the ” I”.
  • The 12th house that it’s transiting on my chart is ruled by a transpersonal zodiac sign (Pisces), and charged by a transpersonal Neptune – the “Collective”.
  • I have Gemini in my 12th during this transit.
  • Gemini is a ‘personal’ zodiac sign, meaning that it is concerned with the individual – the ” I”.

This is, at least, how I perceived the transcendent message from my dream. Astrology confirms it.

I sure hope that I’m a step in the right direction with regards to practical implementation of these unseen energies by sharing this post. If I’ve left you feeling a little spacey, remember I’m surfing with Neptune. He does have that effect on our pysches. He can make things a little foggy…But with Mercury transiting my 10th, I’m optimistic 😇

Let’s share. Let’s inspire. We are connected!

Effects of the Moon on Human Sleep – Scientific Research

In a study published by Elsevier in July 2013, Cajochen C, et al. discuss the effects of the moon on human sleep patterns. Their findings concluded that these cycles resulted in:

  • Decreased sleep by 30%
  • An increase in time to fall asleep by 5 minutes
  • Total sleep duration reduction by 20 minutes

“These changes were associated with a decrease in subjective sleep quality and diminished endogenous melatonin levels.”

“Survival of the Friendliest”

Our social behaviour evolves, just as our minds do. We read books on prehistoric man – our ancestors – and we cringe at some of their crude and sometimes barbaric behaviour. The clan of the cave bear by Jean M. Auel comes to mind. However, we claim to be developed mentally as a species.

If that is the case, then we should be able to modify certain behaviours that make us intolerant of each other. Violence is one such behaviour.

We can choose to interpret the concept of Survival of the fittest to fit our times. Surely, if we allow our defensive nature to determine how we solve problems we are not thinking about our contribution to the big picture of surviving as a species, but rather as individuals.

Where does that take us?

Does it make us better than lions?

Social animals are super efficient at working as a group.

Maybe it’s time we reevaluate our thinking on a primal level. We are social animals too! However, that concept tends to escape us more than it should.

Let’s learn from our animal relatives by going back to the basics of what makes humanity work.
